Quest at Ang Kaew

Quest at Ang Kaew

A draft that never got posted! Oh no! From April: At the end of March, we had a Quest event at a little reservoir on the university campus.  We’ve been doing Quest events since June 2010, and this is the first (of many!) that was completely organized by Thai people.  Part of my job here is to work myself out of a job – handing […]

January photos

Here are some pictures of what we did in January. A team of three wonderful ladies came from a church in Spokane, WA to help out at TLC. We had class for university students, a Quest event, plenty of fun parties, and we also taught at a village school around the mountain three mornings a week.

For your viewing pleasure

For your viewing pleasure

It’s been a wild and crazy and amazing summer, and here are some pictures for your viewing pleasure. We had two teams come to help this summer – the first team, from Evangel University, stayed for two months and taught two courses, one in June and one in July; the second team came from Origin, the young adult group at Simi Valley Church of the […]

SoccerMom

You know SoccerMom — the mother (or father … I should say SoccerParent) with an extra-large vehicle driving around too many kids to too many events while only having time to grab dinner at the drive-thru, and loving every minute of it. Whenever a team comes into town to help me at TLC, I feel like I turn into SoccerMom.  Ok, so maybe I don’t […]

QUEST 15 January 2011

We went to Ob Khan, a nearby national park, for the first QUEST of 2011.  Our topic was “God knows your future” and we had four stations for rotation with different activities and a testimony at each one.  What fun it was!  We had an awesome response too, with over half of the students expressing an interest in Christianity and a few students who want […]

QUEST December 2010

We had a QUEST event at the beginning of the month, and our topic of discussion was how God helps us in our studies.  Three students came, and we had a lot of fun!!! Oh and we had dinner, games, and ice cream too.

Shame on me! So here’s an update

I am a bad blogger. Maybe when I write blogs they could turn out alright, but as far as sitting down and actually writing them, well….. I hang my head in shame. Here are some updates from the last month or so… John, Nok, and Iew were baptized in September!  These are my small group members who came to Christ at the beginning of this […]

Where to begin…?

Where to begin…?

No new post in a month… no I didn’t drop off the face of the earth, but I have been traipsing around Thailand, and Europe, in that time!  A quick timeline… Mid-July: Quest with the Evangel team and Scott and Julie.  We went to a waterfall and had activities at each level. What fun!  There was a little rain but the students enjoyed it.  Some […]

QUEST the Second

On April 2nd we took about 10 students plus several TLC church members to Bua Tong Waterfall for our second QUEST event.  (Read about the first one here.)  It was a great time to build friendships with our students and give them a clear presentation of the Gospel.  Seeds were planted — pray that they fall on fertile soil!

QUEST ที่แรก (the first)

This Sunday we had an afternoon event for students who were interested in learning more about Christianity.  We called it “Quest” – for people who are on a quest searching for God.  It was a great afternoon!  First we played some fun games that had a searching theme… (did you know that hygenic face masks make great blindfolds?!) We sang some songs together, and then […]
